Calling upon our community to join us, take action and be a force for good, Wednesday, September 22, 7pm – 8pm. By joining our virtual evening of action, we’ll come together to help Placer Food Bank help neighbors experiencing some of the worst moments of their lives being impacted by wildfires. More than 130k acres in the communities we serve have been ravaged by the River and Caldor wildfires. Thousands have been evacuated and are without their homes, belongings, food and the most basic necessities. This is an emergency.

Our virtual evening of action will be an hour packed with compelling stories, including hearing from our evening’s co-host Zach Fuentes, ABC10, who has been on the front lines reporting from the Caldor Fire. You’ll hear from our PFB team about how they’ve responded with emergency food distributions to evacuees. You’ll also learn more about Placer Food Bank’s work, see our valued community partners being honored, and participate in fund-a-need opportunities.

We have an urgent need to build our emergency food capacity now and for the future. This past year navigating the pandemic and now being one of the first responders during local wildfires, we are relentlessly bringing food and basic necessities to those in need. For us to be prepared when disaster strikes, we need to elevate our funding to maintain a robust emergency food stock, in addition to the food we normally distribute.

ABOUT THE FUTURE50 PROJECT

The Future50 Project is a community cause against hunger and an ambitious plan to raise funds that will help the Placer Food Bank continue its essential mission which is to sustain communities by nourishing families experiencing food insecurity, educating the community about hunger, while advocating for hunger relief.

Placer Food Bank has proudly served our community for over 50 years. The money raised through the Future50 Project:Force for Good virtual celebration will kick-start our ability to address hunger-relief for the next 50 years, and beyond!

With your support, we can feed more individuals, families, children and seniors, improve our programs and services, upgrade our equipment and facilities – all with the intent to expand food distribution throughout El Dorado, Nevada and Placer counties.
